CLARITY-Africa is seeking to recruit PhD students to work on the project and pursue doctoral studies as part of the project. The PhD student will either be based at the University of Ghana or at AIMS Research and Innovation Centre.
The Climate Change Resilient Equitable Healthy Cities in Africa (CLARITY-Africa) project is a consortium of partners coordinated by Imperial College London and it includes the University of Ghana (UG), the Africa Institute for Mathematical Sciences, Research & Innovation Centre (AIMS RIC), and other leading universities. It is implemented in collaboration with policy and societal partners in four African cities: Accra and Tamale in Ghana, and Kigali and Musanze in Rwanda.
The objective is to co-produce novel and transformative knowledge on how climate change affects environmental risk exposures and to determine vulnerable groups at risk from the effects of climate and environmental change. Examples of vulnerable groups and spaces will include outdoor workers, schools, and communities affected by heat or flooding as a result of urban expansion/densification.
